Prado drivetrains are serious kit — full-time 4WD with a low-range transfer case, and on VX trims a factory rear diff lock. The Toyota Prado transmission hardware we stock covers complete gearboxes (H150F 5-speed manuals on the 1KD and 1KZ, A750F 5-speed autos on the J120 and early J150, AC60F 6-speed auto on 2015+ J150), transfer cases, clutch kits, torque converters, valve bodies, front and rear differentials, CV joints and driveshafts.

Used Prado gearboxes typically run R12k-R25k depending on generation and type — the older H150F 5-speed manual is at the cheaper end, the 6-speed AC60F auto at the top. Transfer cases are in strong demand on Prado because the chain and sprag wear is a known failure point around 250k-300k km; we test low-range engagement on a rolling rig before shipping. Rear diff lock actuators, ring-and-pinion sets, and axle shafts all catalogued. Specify whether your rig is auto or manual and whether it has VX-spec rear diff lock — the housings differ.

Can I fit an AC60F 6-speed auto into an older Prado with the A750F 5-speed?

Not a simple swap — the bellhousing, crossmember, tunnel profile, loom and ECU all differ. Most workshops recommend matching the gearbox to the donor drivetrain family. If you need a 5-speed A750F, we pull them off pre-2015 J150s regularly, budget R18k-R28k with a tested valve body.

Does the Prado VX rear diff lock come with a used diff assembly?

When we strip a VX-spec rig, the factory rear locker stays in the diff. The actuator motor, switch and wiring can be supplied as a kit. Quote us the VIN so we confirm whether it is the electronic or vacuum-actuated variant — they changed mid-generation on the J150.
