Toyota Prado Exhaust

Prado exhausts take a beating on sand tracks, river crossings and rocky farm roads. The Toyota Prado exhaust system we stock covers manifolds (cast iron on older 5VZ-FE and 1KZ-TE, stainless on newer turbo-diesels), downpipes, catalytic converters, DPFs on newer 1GD-FTV J150 models, flex pipes, mid-pipes, mufflers and tailpipes for every generation.

1KD-FTV and 1GD-FTV downpipes are frequently replaced — heat and vibration crack them at the flex section. Budget R2,500-R5,000 for a used tested downpipe. Catalytic converters on 1GR-FE V6 petrols are pricey new but we stock tested used ones at R3,000-R6,500 with heat shields intact. Aftermarket 3-inch stainless exhausts from upgraded overlanding rigs come through regularly. DPFs on 1GD-FTV models are a sensitive area — ash-loaded used units are risky, so most workshops recommend reconditioning the original or fitting new OEM. Always specify whether your Prado is petrol, 1KD or 1GD diesel — manifold and downpipe geometry differs completely.
