The Hilux cooling system copes with extreme duty — idling in traffic, towing at altitude on the Reef, and long-distance cruising through Karoo heat. Coolant hoses on the GD-6 are a common failure at 150,000+ km, and we stock the upper, lower and heater hoses as both new aftermarket (JHB) and used OEM (CPT).

If the water pump is whining or weeping, replace it with the timing chain service on the 2GD-FTV and 1GD-FTV — the labour overlap saves significant workshop time. Radiator fan clutch failure is common on older 1KZ-TE and 2KD-FTV diesels; we stock new replacements and used pulls. Intercoolers for all turbo-diesel Hilux variants are available from both depots — accident-damaged donors usually supply clean intercoolers since they sit behind the grille and forward of the radiator.
