Fuel tanks (steel on most classic Hi-Ace variants) run R1,200-R2,800 used OEM from CPT donors — always pressure-test before fitting and replace the filler-neck O-ring and sender gasket. How much is a reconditioned injector pump for the 3L diesel?

Reconditioned 3L injector pumps typically trade R3,500-R6,500 with a 6-month warranty, tested on a calibration rig before dispatch. New pumps are R12,000-R18,000 if you can find one. Always replace the lift pump, fuel filter and inline strainer at the same job — dirty fuel is what kills these pumps most of the time, and skipping the filter replacement invites a repeat failure.

Can I still get a carburettor for a 2Y petrol Hi-Ace?

Yes — rebuilt 2Y carburettors run R850-R1,800 from the JHB depot with 3-month warranty. Used OEM carbs from H50 donors at R450-R950 as a starting point for a home rebuild. Full rebuild kits (gaskets, jets, float-needle) R280-R650. The 2Y carb is relatively straightforward to rebuild on the bench; most small workshops can handle it without specialist tooling.

Do you stock used Hi-Ace fuel tanks?

Yes. Used OEM fuel tanks for the H50 and H100 run R1,200-R2,800 from CPT donors, pressure-tested for leaks and pinholes. New aftermarket tanks are rare for older variants. Always pressure-test before fitting and replace the filler-neck O-ring, fuel sender gasket and tank-strap rubbers at the same job — cheap consumables that prevent a comeback on a labour-intensive repair.
