The Hi-Ace's diesel range — the 2L naturally-aspirated, the 2L-T turbo, and the bigger 3L — is what put this minibus into the SA taxi industry for fifteen years, and our toyota hi-ace engine parts shelf still reflects that. CPT-dismantled H100 donors feed a steady stream of used 2L and 3L long-motors, cylinder heads, pistons, crankshafts, timing gear and water pumps. For the petrol 2Y and later 2RZ-FE/3RZ-FE engines, used donor stock is thinner but we keep gasket sets, oil pumps and timing components from the JHB depot as new aftermarket.

Used 2L diesel engines trade R10,000-R18,000 depending on compression and mileage; 2L-T turbo variants and 3L engines run R15,000-R25,000. Cylinder heads are the most common standalone order — the 3L head is known for cracking between valves on hard-working taxi donors, and a pressure-tested replacement runs R5,500-R9,500. Timing gear on these older diesels is gear-driven (not belt-driven like newer Toyota diesels), so timing failure is rare — but water pumps, oil pumps and injector pump seals are all regular wear items worth budgeting for at a full refresh.
