Toyota Hi-Ace Brakes

The classic Hi-Ace runs a simpler brake setup than the modern Quantum — front discs with a rear drum-brake live axle, no ABS on most H50 and early H100 donors, and a straightforward vacuum-assisted master cylinder. Our toyota hi-ace brakes range covers brake pads, brake discs, rear brake drums, brake shoes, wheel cylinders, calipers, brake hoses and master cylinders for the full 1982-2004 SA production run. Rear drum shoes are a high-volume consumable — taxi-rank donors wear them through fast, and replacement sets are in regular stock at both depots.

Front brake pads for the H100 typically run R350-R850 per axle set in fleet-duty compound. Rear brake shoes R380-R780 per set. Used OEM brake calipers from CPT-dismantled donors at R450-R950 each — bench-tested for piston travel before dispatch. Master cylinders are a less frequent failure but critical when they go — we stock both new aftermarket units (R850-R1,800) and tested used pulls (R450-R900). Always bleed the system thoroughly after any master cylinder swap; these older Hi-Ace systems take a while to fully purge.
