Toyota Cressida Suspension

The Cressida runs a RWD front independent / live-rear-axle setup through the X70, shifting to a fully independent rear on the X80 MX83. Our toyota cressida suspension stock covers shock absorbers, struts, coil springs, leaf springs (early X30/X40), control arms, ball joints and bushings from donor cars across all four generations. Drift builds drive most of the current demand — coilover conversions, adjustable upper arms and solid diff mounts are common requests.

Bushings are almost always the first thing to replace on a classic sedan that has been stood. Rubber doesn't survive 30+ years of garage life, and a full polyurethane bushing kit for an X80 transforms the handling more than a shock swap does. We source polyurethane kits through the JHB depot as aftermarket stock; OEM rubber bushings and the pressed subframe mounts come from CPT-stripped donors. Rear trailing-arm bushes on the MX83 are the most-replaced single item — if the rear feels vague under power, start there.
