The brake rotor is the part of the brake disc that comes into direct contact with the pads when braking. It is an annular surface, usually made of cast iron. The brake disc is attached to the wheel hub, its central part is made of light metals. The rotor with the central part of the disc can be soldered or made from a single piece of cast metal. For better cooling of the metal during the operation of the brakes, ventilation holes are provided in the central part of the disc.
